Cottage Lake-Bedroom Doors

This could also be considered a mural but because they were painted onto doors, I classified it as decorative.

The image was based on this home owner’s favorite painter, Thomas Kinkade. The left and right doors were painted as complimentary extensions of the center panels.

How this came about: We discussed painting a mural and she wanted to do this as soon as possible. They had just begun the process of building another property and planned to sell this house as soon as the other was completed. We then discussed ways of removing it by building stretchers for the wall, which was the common way. It wasn’t a simple plan by far. Then she got the idea to construct these same closets in her new bedroom, then simply take the doors with her to the new house and reattach them.

So…I painted the image onto the set of doors.
